Every civilization experiences periods of formation and flourishing. However, nothing is eternal under the sun, and sooner or later, decline and disintegration come. Yet, your achievements, such as glorious battles, sieges, and other accomplishments, will remain forever in the hearts of humanity.
Achievements are the main goals of the game. They are described on achievement cards:
- Name
- Description
- Type
- Complexity
Each card is divided into two blocks that contain the achievements of two types:
Instant achievement. The player may achieve this as many times during the game, as many lightning symbols there are. During your turn in development phase, complete the described task and put your cube from the bank on this block. You can get a few achievements of this type during this round, but only one per your turn
Recurrent achievement. The player may achieve this each round, if the requirements are met at the end of achievement phase. Earned achievements remain yours until the end of the game even if you don't meet their requirements anymore
An achievement card has either one of four colors that define the class of the achievements:
There are a total of 48 achievement cards, with 12 of each color
Each instant achievement has its own complexity, indicated by the number of stars
. As soon as a player acquires achievements with a total complexity ≥ 4
, the game immediately ends, and the player achieves an instant victory.
There are eight public achievements (4 cards) available for each player at the beginning of the game. Also each player has one card with two secret achievements on hand.
Revealing Secret Achievements:
When you complete either achievement on your secret card:
1. Reveal the card
2. Place your cube on the completed achievement
3. Both achievements on that card become public (available to all players)
Class Restriction:
You cannot place cubes on multiple cards of the same class. Once you earn an achievement on a blue card (for example), you cannot earn achievements from any other blue card.
Optional Achievements:
• Secret achievements are alternatives to public achievements of the same class
• You are never obligated to acquire an achievement, even if you meet its requirements
